Challenge Hiking Series
This will be a series of hikes designed to build a hiker's capabilities and confidence, possibly leading to the ascent of Mt McLaughlin and/or some other notable peak(s) in our area. These hikes will be on Sundays (conditions permitting), so those members who work can join in.
The first hike is planned for a fairly flat trail with a round-trip distance of about 5 miles. Trails will build in vertical ascent profiles by about 500 feet per hike, and/or be extended by a mile or 2. At least, that’s the idea. The more we hike, the tougher the hike, and the stronger we get!
